If we have already processed your OSAP paperwork, you can expect to receive an actual assessment from the Ministry starting in July. To view your assessment, log into the OSAP website and select the check status tab. On this page you should be able to see a breakdown of the funding you can expect to receive.
The MSFAA is a new document added to the OSAP process for the upcoming school year. This document will allow for all OSAP funding not going to Brock to be directly deposited into the student’s personal banking account.
The MSFAA must be processed in order to receive OSAP funding. To process the MSFAA you must take it in person to an authorized post office. To view a complete list of authorized post offices, check out the CanLearn website. When you go you will need your social insurance card, a government issued photo ID, and your banking information (i.e. a void cheque or direct deposit slip from your bank). The Canada Post employees will check your identification and mail your MSFAA to the National Student Loans Service Centre.

Your Financial Aid Officer will begin processing appeals after the start of the term in September. If you are assessed for additional funds, you will be notified by the Ministry.
You may also complete the “OneApp” which is the new bursary and awards application for the 2012-13 academic year. This application will open on August 1st 2013 and will allow you to be considered for all Brock bursaries and awards.
4. I was mailed Declaration and Signature pages from the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities. Why am I getting these when I already sent them in?
If you waited a while before sending in your Declaration and Signature pages, the Ministry may have sent you additional Declaration and Signature pages as a reminder.
You do not have to re-submit your Declaration and Signature pages if they have already been sent to Brock. You can check your status on the OSAP website to see when your Declaration and Signature pages have been processed.

An overpayment occurs when you are reassessed and no longer eligible for the amount of funding you initially received. There are many reasons why this may occur, including, but not limited to: change in income, change in course load, or a discrepancy between the income you reported on your OSAP application and those obtained from the Canada Revenue Agency.
The first overpayment that occurs on your account is non-payable and will not affect your future eligibility for OSAP funding. Any additional overpayments must be paid in full to The National Student Loan Service Centre before any other OSAP funding will be distributed.
If you have received a Statement of Loan Overpayment letter and would like further information about the overpayment, please contact the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office. Our office is located on the 4th floor of the Schmon Tower and our office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:30pm and Friday 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:30pm.
If you would like to repay a loan overpayment, please contact the National Student Loan Service Centre at 1-888-815-4514. Once you have re-paid your overpayment, be sure to have the National Student Loans Service Centre fax a receipt of the payment to the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office at (905) 688-3051.
You can check the status of your OSAP application by logging into your OSAP account and clicking on “Check my Status”. This will let you know whether or not you qualify for OSAP funding, and an approximate estimate. Keep in mind that it may take a couple of weeks for an estimate to appear.

You can drop by the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office at Brock to retrieve your OAN number and have your password reset. Our office is located on the 4th floor of Schmon Tower and our office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-4:30 pm and Friday 9:00am-4:30pm. Please keep in mind that we close for lunch from 12-1pm.
If you are not in the St. Catharines area, you can retrieve your OAN number and password at any institution that administers OSAP (i.e. McMaster University, Fleming College, Ryerson University, etc.). OAN numbers and passwords cannot be given out over phone or email. Please be sure to bring valid government issued photo ID and your social insurance card.
If none of the above options are available to you, please fill out the Request for OSAP Access Number form on the OSAP website.
If you would like to receive the grant in September, you are encouraged to apply by June 30.
However, if you do not need the funding at the beginning of the school year, the deadline to apply for the grant is 60 days before the end of your study period. Keep in mind that if you are a student receiving OSAP funding, you are automatically considered for this grant- no separate application is necessary.
No; you might still be able to receive funding through the part-time OSAP application. The application is available on the OSAP website. Part-time OSAP funding may be able to assist with your educational costs, but does not fund your daily living expenses. If you have any questions, be sure to contact us.
You will be able to apply for bursary assistance beginning August 1st. You can fill out the “OneApp” at www.brocku.ca/safa to be considered. By filling out this single application form, you will be considered for all Brock awards and donor bursaries.
