Published on April 16 2013
Fiona Blaikie, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Brock University, is proud to welcome all of those participating in the upcoming Connect 2013 conference. Her welcome message (found below) will also be featured in the Connect 2013 Conference program.
Dear Conference Presenters, Partners and Participants, On behalf of the Faculty of Education at Brock University, I am delighted to write this letter of support for Connect 2013. It is critical for all of us at all stages of life to be immersed in and competent users of technological skills that support cutting edge teaching, learning, business, government, service and scholarship. Significantly, this is an opportunity for participants to explore and understand what it means to live and work more fully and richly in the 21st Century. This conference will teach us how to be more competent users of 21st Century technology. It also provides an opportunity for connecting with one another, and the opportunity to further expand partnerships between Universities, Colleges, businesses and school boards, to reach teachers, artists, administrators, people working in business and in information technology: I believe connecting and communicating are the greatest gifts of technology.
It is my pleasure to be a participant in and supporter of this conference. Thank you to the Connect 2013 conference organizers, and thank you to all presenters and participants. I look forward to meeting with you at Connect 2013.
