IRC hosts Book Fairs
Published on February 14 2013
In an effort to provide teacher candidates with an opportunity to save some cash on purchasing valuable resources the Faculty of Education’s IRC teamed up with two local partners to host a pair of book fairs on Feb. 5 and 6.
Teaming up with the Campus Store and Crabtree Publishing Company, the Instructional Resource Centre (IRC) hosted book fairs on Feb. 5 at the Hamilton Campus and Feb. 6 on the main campus – with both days receiving positive response.
“The IRC book fairs were a success with more than 200 teacher candidates in attendance browsing and purchasing resources from Crabtree Publishing Company and the Campus Store,” said IRC Manager Kim Pelchat. “Thank you to our teacher candidates for their support.”
The book fairs offered convenient access for teacher candidates to preview and purchase resources for teaching while providing the IRC with another avenue in which to work directly with their students.
Crabtree and the Campus store were committed to easing the burden for teacher candidates, offering great prices on their products.
“Library bound hard covered books originally retailing for $24.99 were offered at $7.99 and many more resources were offered at value pricing,” said Pelchat. “The IRC is already working to plan an event next year and to expand the number of vendors.”
