Brock non-business undergrads benefit big with $4000 Brock MBA scholarship

Published on April 05 2012

Getting an MBA at Brock is a sound investment in your future, and for six future scholarship winners it will now be a more affordable degree.

The Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Graduate Studies are pleased to announce the creation of six scholarships worth up to $4000 designed exclusively for recent 2011 and 2012 graduates of each of Brock’s faculties. Eligible applicants from the Faculties of Applied Health Science, Humanities, Social Science, Math and Science, Education and Business will all have a chance at winning the Dean of Graduate Studies/Dean Business MBA Entrance Scholarship.

This is the first major scholarship for the Brock MBA that is exclusively offered to graduates of all of Brock’s six faculties and highlights the fact that you can enter into the MBA without work experience.

“This is the perfect opportunity to bring attention to the fact that non-business majors should consider an MBA,” says the Director of Graduate Programs for the Faculty of Business, Shari Sekel, “The MBA is such a versatile degree for students from all fields and this is a great way for recent undergrads to realize the value of a Brock MBA early in their professional careers.”

Eligible students will be considered for one of the six $2000 scholarships if they are a recent graduate of Brock and have an 80% overall average. Applicants with 80% in their last two years of study will be eligible for the $2000 Dean of Graduate Studies Entrance Scholarship.

The GMAT, the standardized admission test required for MBA admission, will also be waived for students that hold an 80% overall average.

All eligible applicants that have applied or will apply by July 11, 2012 will be considered automatically for the scholarship.

“Traditionally we have always received a high number of applications from students in Business and Social Science,” says Andrea Johnson, Graduate Marketing and Communications Coordinator, “so we are anticipating that the competition for those two awards will be close. For students in other faculties, this is a great chance to set yourself apart from your other graduate classmates and have almost 50% of your first year MBA tuition paid for!”
