Planned power outage Friday morning

Published on June 27 2013

Please be advised that on Friday, June 28, at 6:15 a.m., the main campus excluding the Cairns Complex, will experience a a brief power outage.

Due to the unplanned power interruption Thursday morning, which was caused by a problem originating from Horizon Utilities, power was switched to the alternative feeder to ensure stability of power on the main campus.  Conditions have stabilized and will require a switch back to the normal power configuration. This work is planned for Friday morning in order to have the least impact on the main campus.

Occupants may notice a five second loss of power as the transfer is made. Facilities Management staff will be on site verifying all building systems on the main campus affected by the planned power interruption are returned to normal and any issues are resolved.
