UPDATE: Brock registration delays resolved (June 18)
Published on June 19 2013
Registration delays at Brock caused by a surge of online activity Monday morning have been addressed and the registration system is now operating normally.
IT staff at the University implemented upgrades and repairs late yesterday and early this morning resulting in improvements to database response times. Students continue to register and no new issues have been reported.
The next significant registration window opens July 3 for upper-year students.
The June 17 system slowdown occurred when registration opened at 6 a.m. and thousands of incoming first-year students overloaded the system with about 5,000 connections trying to access the registration database - more than three times the number of connections when registration opened for first-year students in 2012.
The University apologizes for any delays this issue has caused to students.
NOTICE: Registration delayed by database issue (June 17)
A database problem with Brock University's Course Registration System today is causing backlogs for students attempting to register for courses for this fall.
An IT team is working on the problem and hopes to have it resolved as soon as possible.
The University apologizes for any delays that students may encounter. Please watch this space for updates.
