A videoconference is a conference call between two or more remote sites, where participants communicate via video and audio. Multipoint conferences involve three or more participants. Brock University utilizes the high bandwidth capabilities of the Internet, particularly the Orion and CA*net4broadband networks, to enable videoconferencing using internet protocol (IP). Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), or digital telephone networking is not available at Brock University. Bridging services are available through a third party at a cost to the end user.
We are Making some Changes to LifeSize Clearsea!
Lifesize Clearsea is becoming Lifesize Video
On October 19th, ITS will be upgrading to our new LifeSize Clearsea Platform. Over the next couple of weeks, ITS will be working hard on a major upgrade to our Desktop/Mobile video conference platform also known as LifeSize Clearsea. After the upgrade, Lifesize Clearsea will become Lifesize Video, complete with a brand new look and feel including many new features. Check back in the next couple of weeks to find out how to access the new software.
How to Set Up a Video Conference:
Videoconferences at Brock University can currently be supported in Welch Hall 147, which seats 25 people.
Bookings outside of this space need to be coordinated through Jon Winterbottom in Audio Visual Services.
