University commits to continued talks as “no-board report” issued

The University and CUPE 4207-3, representing ESL Instructors, have been bargaining for a renewal collective agreement since June 2014. The parties have met with a provincially appointed mediator in conciliation on three occasions since November, and the Union recently requested what is commonly known as a “no-board report”, the first step toward a legal strike or lockout.

A “no-board report” was issued on Feb. 28, and the Union has posted on its website that a strike deadline of March 17 at 12:01am has been set.

The University is committed to continued talks with the Union to reach a renewal collective agreement, and will provide further updates to the Brock community as discussions continue.

More information about the collective bargaining process can be found on the Brock University Outlook website.
