Caregiving by family and friends is often integral to maintaining the health and well-being of Canadians living with chronic health conditions, disabilities or aging needs. The role of caregivers, such as family members and friends, has become increasingly important, particularly with the changing age structure of Canadian society. Longer life expectancies and the transition of baby boomers into their senior years have meant that more Canadians may require assistance and care related to aging, now and into the future.
