Shawn Whiteley enters his seventh year as the Sports Information & Marketing Coordinator at Brock University.

Whiteley 33, has spent 14 years in the field of sports media relations. He started in 1992 as a student intern at Durham College where he worked for three years doing media relations and game day operations for Durham Lords Athletics. He graduated with honours in 1995 with a three year diploma in Sports Administration. 

In 1997 he was hired as an intern in the Sports Information Department at Davidson College, an NCAA Division I school in North Carolina. A year later he was hired at Troy State University in Alabama as the Assistant Sports Information Director (SID) and in 1999 worked as the Assistant SID at (RIT) Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. 

In 2000 he was hired as the first ever full-time Sports Information and Marketing Coordinator at Brock University. Over the past six years he has had the opportunity to cover 34 championship teams including 13 National Champions. 

In his career he has been recognized for his work by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) twice. In 1999-2000 the RIT Men's Hockey Guide placed second in the Nation and this past year in 2005-06 the Brock Men's Basketball Media Guide Cover was voted Best in the Nation by CoSIDA. 

Whiteley resides in Fonthill with his wife Christina and his newborn twins Hailey and Zachary.
