Undergraduate Sessional Dates

An academic timetable (Registration Guide) giving the times and locations of all courses offered in any one Session (fall/winter, spring or summer) is available on the Registrar's Website at: BrockU.CA/registrar/birtguides/index.htmlprior to the beginning of each session.

NOTE: All dates refer to undergraduate studies unless otherwise specified.

SPRING 2011

Monday, May 2
First day of classes for duration 1 and duration 2 courses. Please consult the Spring and Summer Registration Guide for further details.

Sunday, May 8
Last day for duration 1 and duration 2 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. Brock Registration System closes for duration 1 and duration 2 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.

Monday, May 23
Victoria Day. University closed (no classes); library closed.

Tuesday, May 24
Last day to withdraw from Spring duration 2 course without academic penalty

Friday, May 27
Make-up day for Victoria Day duration 1 and duration 2 classes. The schedule will be that of a Monday.
Last day for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 2 courses.

Friday, June 3
Last day of lectures for duration 2 courses.

Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4
Progress examinations for duration 1 courses and final examinations for duration 2 courses.

Monday, June 6
First day of classes for duration 3 courses.

Tuesday, June 7 to Saturday, June 11
Spring Convocation.

Sunday, June 12
Last day for duration 3 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. Brock Registration System closes for duration 3 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.

Wednesday, June 15
Last day for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 1 courses.

Friday, June 24
Make-up day for July 1 duration 1 and duration 3 classes. The schedule will be that of a Thursday.

Monday, June 27
Last day for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 3 courses.

Friday, July 1
Canada Day closure. University closed (no classes July 1).
Last date for receipt of applications to graduate at Fall Convocation.

Friday, July 8
Last day of lectures for duration 1 and duration 3 courses.

Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9
Final examinations for duration 1 and duration 3 courses.

SUMMER 2011

Monday, July 11
First day of classes for duration 1 courses. Please consult the Spring and Summer Registration Guide for further details.

Friday, July 15
Last day for duration 1 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. Brock Registration System closes for duration 1 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.

Monday, August 1
Civic holiday. University closed (no classes)

Friday, August 5
Last day for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 1 courses.

Thursday, August 18
Last day of lectures for duration 1 courses. Make-up day for Civic Holiday. The schedule will be that of a Monday.

Thursday, August 18 and Friday, August 19
Final examinations for duration 1 courses.

FALL 2011

Thursday, September 1
First day of Fall/Winter Session, Teacher Education Program only.

Monday, September 5
Labour day. University closed.
Residence Move In Day.

Thursday, September 8
First day of Fall/Winter Session, duration 1 and duration 2, day and evening sections, Undergraduate program.

Friday, September 23
Last day for duration 1 and duration 2 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. Brock Registration System closes for duration 1 and duration 2 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.

Monday, October 10
Thanksgiving Day. University closed (no classes); library closed. (see December 1)

Saturday, October 22
Fall Convocation.

Friday, November 4
Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 2 courses without academic penalty.

Sunday, November 6
Fall Preview Day.

Thursday, December 1
Last day of lectures, Fall Term, duration 2 courses. Make up day for Thanksgiving Day duration 1 and duration 2 classes. The schedule will be that of a Monday.

Friday, December 2 and Monday, December 5
Extended Fall term dates for Science and Applied Health Science course labs; at the discretion of the instructor.

Tuesday, December 6
Reading day. A snow day may be used to cover classes missed because of adverse weather (if needed). The day of the week missed will determine the replacement schedule for classes.

Wednesday, December 7 to Tuesday, December 20
Progress examinations for duration 1 courses and final examinations for duration 2 courses.

Wednesday, December 21 noon until noon Sunday, January 8
Residences are closed. *NOTE: According to the Residence Agreement, students must leave residence by noon the day following their last exam in December and in April.

Friday, December 23 at 4:30 pm until regular University opening on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 8:30 am
Christmas and New Year holiday. University closed.

WINTER 2012

Tuesday, January 3
University reopens.

Monday, January 9
First day of Winter Term, Undergraduate programs.

Friday, January 20

Reading Week. No classes will be held in undergraduate programs.

Sunday, March 4
Spring Open House.

Friday, March 9
Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 3 courses.

Monday, March 12 to Friday, March 16
Spring break (elementary and secondary schools). No classes will be held in the Teacher Education Program.

Friday, April 6
Good Friday. University closed.

Monday, April 9
Last Day of Fall/Winter Session duration 1 and duration 3 classes. Make up day for Good Friday, April 6. The schedule will be that of a Friday.

Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April ll

Thusday, April 12 to Wednesday, April 25
Final examinations for duration 1 and duration 3 courses.
