About The Conference
Registration
As in the past, there is no fee for registration. However, registration is required so that we can plan out room size and refreshments. Please email Tony Volk to confirm your attendance.
Abstract Submission
We are currently accepting abstracts for presentations at the conference. Presentations will be schedule for either 20-25 minutes, or 45-50 minutes. Please indicate with your submission whether you have a preference for one of the time lengths. Student presentations, as well as multiple-presenter presentations, are encouraged. Please submit your abstract in either Word, PDF, or RTF format, and label the subject line clearly so that your email isn't waylaid by an aggressive SPAM filter.
Program
The conference will run from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, April 22. Coffee, muffins, and refreshments will be served starting at 8:30 AM. There will be a 2 hr break from 12 - 2 for lunch off campus. After the conference, there will be dinner off campus, with the location TBD. For guests travelling in from out of town, please feel free to email Tony regarding accomodations and entertainment for the weekend.
Conference Location
Take the 401 to the QEW (follow the sign directions to Niagara). Take the QEW towards Niagara, but exit Highway 406 once you reach St. Catherines. You can only go one way on the 406 from the QEW, and after about 10 minutes that will take you to the St. David's Road (exit West). Exit, and stick to the right. St. David's Road (West) will take you directly into Brock University. Proceed straight, past a 4 way stop, and halfway around the round-about to enter in to Parking Lot D ($5 for the day). There is also pay by the hour parking in Lot E ($1/hr I believe). From Lot D, look for the tallest building, which is Schmon Tower. There are elevators in the tower's outside lobby, take them to the top floor (lucky #13), and you will find the Alumni Lounge, which is where the conference will be held.
You can find a PDF map of the campus here. And just because I found it, here is a slightly confusing map along with the University's highway directions for anyone who likes their directions fancy.
