CRISS Event Proposal

CRISS Event Awards are open to all faculty members, departments, centres, and institutes housed within the Faculty of Social Sciences. These funds may be requested to support speakers, conferences, workshops, or other events that help to gather and/or disseminate knowledge.

    Please include a pdf event proposal of no more than four pages that includes the following sections: Context and Contribution (how the event contributes to and advances research and scholarships in the Faculty of Social Sciences); Objective(s) and significance of the event; Event Schedule; Description of the event activities including guest speakers or featured aspects; Description of the target audience for the event. It is important that the committee be able to understand both the importance of the event and how the event will unfold and benefit research and scholarship in the Faculty of Social Sciences

  • Please describe how you are planning to promote this event and whether or not you would like assistance in promoting this event.
  • CRISS Funding Request

  • Please provide a complete for the project (note that the CRISS award will not exceed $1000.00). Note that requests for honoraria very widely. You are reminded to ensure that you provide justification for any funds requested for this purpose. Include information about sponsorship from other sources (source and amount). If you are hiring a research assistant, current rates of pay as set by HR should be used. Ensure that your budget is fully justified including funds from other sources. If your formatting does not easily transfer into the text box, please upload a one page budget PDF.

  • If you have received CRISS Event funding in the past, please indicate the date that funding was received, a description of the project, and how it advanced research and scholarship in the Faculty of Social Sciences (150 word limit).
