Brock University is committed to encouraging academic excellence. Annually, the University sets aside funds to recognize our best and brightest students. In addition to our generous bursary program, Brock offers very competitive scholarships to entering students and returning students.

Determining the value of your Brock Scholars Award:
The Brock Scholars Award is offered on the basis of your admission average and is renewable. The minimum average to be eligible for this award is 80.0%. Brock calculates your admission average to the nearest 10th of a percentile. We do not round averages up or down. This award is only applicable for the Offer of Admission enclosed.
The final value of your award may increase or decrease if your FINAL admission average changes. To remain eligible for the scholarship amount you have been offered, you must achieve the minimum FINAL admission average for that scholarship range. If there is any change in the amount you are to receive, you will be notified as to the final amount of your scholarship. If your final admission average is less than 80.0% you will no longer be eligible for a Brock Scholars award.
Final Admission Average:
Final admission averages are determined using a student’s top 6 (including pre-requisites) senior academic credits from an accredited secondary school. In Ontario, a student’s top 6 grade 12 U or M credits (including pre-requisites) will be used. Courses taken in the summer following graduation will be utilized for scholarship revisions, but official transcripts will only be accepted until October 31.
Your scholarship will be applied directly to your tuition and/or residence fees. This will take place before classes begin in September, reducing the amount you owe to the University. Scholarships cannot be used for first installments or university down payments.
Brock Course Load Requirements:
To receive the first installment of your scholarship, you must be a full-time student. If you reduce your course load to part-time status (less than 3.0 credits in the fall/winter) or withdraw from the University, the value of your scholarship will be pro-rated or withdrawn. Please advise the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office of any change in your registration status – preferably before a change is actually made in order to assess the financial implications.
Scholarship Renewal (if applicable):
To renew this award you must complete at least 4.0 Undergraduate credits in the fall/winter session with a minimum 80.0% average. Renewal eligibility is assessed and awarded annually, regardless of whether or not the scholarship was renewed the previous year.
Students pursuing a pass degree (3 years of study) are eligible for a total of 2 renewals; students pursuing an honours degree (4 years of study) are eligible for a total of 3 renewals. You are eligible for renewal, only in the first 3 or 4 years of your Brock degree.
Please note: students pursuing the Concurrent Education program are only eligible for scholarship renewals during the completion of their first degree and will not receive a scholarship renewal in their final year.
Scholarship Renewal for Co-op Students (if applicable):
Co-op students are eligible for Brock Scholars Awards (entrance awards) and renewals. Award renewal will be assessed differently then non- co-op students to accommodate for the unique scheduling of their program. Award renewals for co-op students will be assessed after the completion of each milestone of 5.0 full credits, and will be based on their best 4.0 full credits. A minimum of an 80.0% average in their best 4.0 full credits is required to renew the award. Milestones will be assed when students reach 5.0, 10.0, 15.0 cumulative credits. Co-op students must contact the Student Awards office to ensure that their renewal is reviewed.
All registered courses with an academic weight will be included in the students’ milestone calculation. The calculation for the milestone will consider the courses in the following order: full credit courses, duration two half- credit courses, and finally duration three half- credit courses.
