The Power of One
The Power of One introduces elementary and secondary students to one significant work of art from Rodman Hall's permanent collection. The goal of this program is to promote appreciation and awareness of an outstanding local art collection, and to lead students in the development of skills to talk about and to create art. Colour reproductions of this work are available through the gallery (complimentary; 1 per classroom please). An electronic copy of the accompanying activity guide explaining how to use the work in the classroom is available for download below. Not just an inspiration for student artwork, The Power of One can also be used in a variety of creative cross-curricular ways.
The Current focus of the Power of One is A. Y. Jackson's Laurentian Landscape (1953).
