We strive to have a positive impact on people’s lives, which is why our researchers are dedicated to improving health across the lifespan.

Whether looking at tropical diseases, risk factors of children and youth, improving senior’s fitness or understanding how physical activity and recreation can improve our well-being, our research is cutting-edge.

The Brock Functional Inclusive Training Centre pursues innovative, multi-disciplinary research and provides supervised community exercise programs to improve health and quality of life in older adults, cardiac patients, and individuals with spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and amputees.

The Brock-Niagara Validation, Prototyping and Manufacturing Institute houses highly specialized equipment that enables researchers to make important inroads in drug development, disease detection and prevention, and boosting the nutritional content in food, among other research.

Across the University we have specialized labs with cutting-edge equipment to conduct research in workplace ergonomics, the way our bodies function in extreme head and cold, healthy bone development and preservation, and muscle growth, among many topics.
