General Transfer Credit Guidelines
- Transfer credit is awarded based primarily upon the compatibility of the previous course to the Brock program, course learning outcomes, and grades achieved.
- Students may need to provide course outlines/syllabi to Admissions so we can determine course-to-course equivalencies and consider you for transfer credit.
- In some cases, some or all of your transfer credits awarded may not fit into your undergraduate program. Contact your program Academic Advisor.
- You may not opt out of receiving transfer credit.
- Transfer credit will not be awarded for studies that you did not disclose on your application.
- Any review of transfer credit must be completed within one year of the date of admission.
- If you change your major/program, transfer credit will not be reassessed. Speak with an advisor about how your existing transfer credits will fit into your new major/program.
- If you take a Brock course that we already awarded transfer credit for from another institution, that Brock course will then replace the transferred credit. The transfer credit you received for that specific course will no longer count toward your Brock degree.
If you are not admissible as a transfer student, you may be considered for admission as a Mature student or under the Fresh Start pathway. Students admitted through either of these options are not eligible for transfer credit.
Fresh Start Pathway
- If not admissible as a transfer student, we automatically review your secondary school credentials for consideration under Fresh Start.
- If you are admitted under Fresh Start, you are not eligible for transfer credit from your previous post-secondary studies.
- All final grades from all secondary and post-secondary studies must be received in order to be considered under the Fresh Start pathway.
- Fresh Start is not available for admission to competitive programs or subsequent degrees.
- We will contact you if you are selected as a possible candidate for Fresh Start.
