Summer Camp Updates

March 15, 2022

Brock Camps are back for 2022!

We know many of you have been anxious to hear from us about summer camps. We are overjoyed to let you know that your favourite camps are open again for this July & August. You can find the 2022 Camp Guide online now and registration will open April 1 at 7:00 am.

There are some notable changes in our operations this summer, as we adjust to opening after a two year break, and to ensure we follow all relevant guidelines.

Important notes

  • Brock University currently has a vaccine and mask mandate in place. All those over the age of 12 must show proof of vaccination to attend camps and masks must be worn indoors at all times.
  • We are using a new registration system (ActiveNet) and recommend you create a profile and take some time to find your camp selections prior to April 1.
  • Camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. You are welcome to drop off after 8:30 a.m. and campers must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. We will not have extended care this year.
  • Large gatherings will be limited and therefore we are not offering hot lunches in our dining halls.
  • Camps will operate from July 4 to July 29 and pause in August while Brock hosts the Canada Summer Games. We will resume camps from August 22 to September 2.
  • During the games, there will be limited off-campus camps such as golf, rowing, and camps at Marilyn I Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.

We LOVE camp and can’t wait to welcome you back to our beautiful campus very soon. If you have any questions, please reach out to the camp manager, Michelle Leone and the camp team at youthuniversity@brocku.ca or 905-688-5550 x3120.

April 13, 2021

We have made the difficult decision to cancel in-person Brock University Summer Camps for the 2021 season. As you know, the safety of our campers and staff has always been our priority. As much as we would love to be able to host your children this summer, the uncertainty of the pandemic continues.

Please know that we will be here for you and your children when it is safe for us to be together again.

We wish you the best of luck this summer and look forward to connecting again soon. As you know, we are here if you have questions.

Your Brock Camps Team

March 16, 2021

Registration for Summer Camp 2021 remains on hold at this time, pending approval to resume in-person camps. Rest assured that we are working behind the scenes to reimagine camps at Brock to ensure our programming would follow all guidelines and safety measures. As an accredited camp provider through the Ontario Camp Association, we will be listening and taking guidance from their leadership and COVID-19 task force. The OCA task force is working alongside public health officials, medical personnel and government representatives to put forth a comprehensive plan for all camps, that prioritizes the health and safety of our campers. We are also working closely with our Brock University internal partners to collaborate on these efforts.

The specifics around camp programming and schedules will be different than in years past and will be released if we are going ahead with in-person programming.

Thank you for your continued patience.

January 29, 2021

We are pleased to announce that your Brock Camps team will be launching a virtual March Break program for 2021. Each day during March Break, registered campers will log onto a private MS Teams group for an hour of fun, engaging activities and learning with familiar camp faces! We can’t wait to see our campers and catch up. Register and learn more about March Break here.

At this time, we are not able to confirm programming for Summer Camp 2021. Given the uncertainty, registration will not open on March 1, as it has in the past. We will send past campers an email as soon as we know more. If you have any questions please reach out to youthuniversity@brocku.ca.

May 25, 2020 Update

It is with a heavy heart, that I share with you the difficult decision to cancel all Brock summer camps for 2020. Brock University has taken this step to continue to prioritize the safety of our campers, staff, and their families.

We are going to miss seeing our campers challenge themselves, try new things, create friendships and build lasting memories in a way that only summer camps can offer.  We share your deep disappointment in the loss of this year’s summer camps, but we look forward to seeing you in other community programming at Brock, in the future. In the meantime, please stay safe this summer and take good care of yourselves.

April 27, 2020 Update

We hope that you are all staying safe in these uncertain times. Nothing is more important to us than your campers’ health and wellbeing – not just during camp, but all year long.

As we plan for this year’s summer camp season, we are working in coordination with Niagara Public Health and Brock University to make an informed and appropriate decision around summer camp operations. Please know that if it is necessary to cancel or modify summer camp programming, we will communicate this by June 1 at the latest.

What does this mean for Camp Operations?

Cancellations

At this time we are waiving our administration fee for camp cancellations up to June 15, and if it becomes necessary to cancel camps because of COVID-19, we will issue full refunds. Registration remains open.

Subsidy

We continue to process subsidy approvals as they come in. When we are able to return to work at our office, we will connect with those who need to arrange payment of parental contributions.

Fun for your Family

We love connecting with you and your kids! We continue to provide updates and fun activities through Facebook and Instagram — please follow along @yuatbrock
