Children's Movement Program
Coordinated by the departments of Recreation Services and Physical Education & Kinesiology
Children's Movement Program — Ages walking through 12 (eight classes)
Note: Registration is open for the Winter 2012 program - Classes begin Jan. 14.
Jump, climb, explore, dance, and play games! This Saturday morning program is based on Brock's movement education program, incorporating problem-solving and decision-making skills. Educational gymnastics, creative dance, and developmental games challenge children to be active and try new skills.
For children who have a special need, volunteer movement partners are available to provide one-on-one interaction and provide appropriate assistance so that your child is an active participant in the program.
Saturdays, starts Jan. 14 at 9am, 10am, 11am (no class February 25; last class is March 10).
Session times:
- 9–10 am Groups for ages 1-2 yrs, 3-4 yrs and 5-7 yrs
- 10–11 am Groups for ages 1-2 yrs, 3-4 yrs and 5-7 yrs
- 11 am–12 noon Groups for ages 1-2 yrs, 3-4 yrs and 8-12 yrs
Location: Gym 2, in the lower level of the Walker Complex
Motivation of the Week - Winter 2012 - (Feel free to have your child dress up to fit the "motivation", but please remember, they must be able to move safely.)

Feb. 18 - Wild, Wild West
Feb. 25 - NO CMP - sleep in!
Mar. 3 - The Great Outdoors
Mar. 10 - Spectacular Circus
Cost: $58; $55 for each additional child from same family; $30/child of current Brock University student
Participants should wear attire suitable for movement such as shorts or sweat pants (no zippers or buttons). If wearing pants, they should not drag on the floor. Many activities will involve bare feet.
