<p><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em;">Judith Graham</span><br /><strong>Lecturer</strong><br />Judy received her MFA from York University. Judy is an artist who works in various mediums including drawing, sculpture and photography. <p><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em; ">Lorène Bourgeois </span><br /><strong>Part-time Instructor </strong> <br />Lorène Bourgeois’ recent work in drawing, painting and photography investigates the ambiguity of the face, the head, and the body, disclosed or obscured through clothing, framing and head-dress. Here, clothing is examined not only for its social or utilitarian functions, but also as a framing device and a theatrical artifact.</p><p>Born in France, Lorène completed her training in Paris, Philadelphia and Halifax. A Fulbright recipient, she holds an MFA from NSCAD University in Halifax. Her work has been exhibited widely in Canada as well as in France, Korea, Russia and the United States, with recent solo shows at Loop Gallery and Harbourfront Centre in Toronto. <p><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em;">David Wright</span><br /><strong>Part-time Instructor</strong><br />David received his MFA in England. His early paintings range from large-scale “mega visual” abstractions in acrylic and mixed media, drawing visual references from the urban and technological environment. His recent work has moved to a more naturalistic interpretation of his environment, painting subjects to which he feels a more personal attachment. He has exhibited extensively in Canada, USA and Mexico. <p><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em;">Amy Friend</span><br /><strong>Part-time Instructor</strong><br />Amy Friend holds a BFA Honors Degree and BEd from York University as well as an MFA from the University of Windsor, where she received a Social Sciences and Humanities Grant for her photographic work. Amy has exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana and in Camaguey, Cuba. Amy’s work is represented in public and private collections. A large-scale mural is permanently installed in the Joan and Martin Goldfarb Building at York University, Toronto. <p><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em;">Scott Sawtell</span><br /><strong>Part-time Instructor</strong><br />Scott received his MFA from the University of Waterloo and is currently teaching at the Ontario College of Art as well as Brock University. <p style="line-height: 20px; "><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em; line-height: 27px; ">Arnold McBay</span><br /><strong>Visual Arts Facilities Technician and Instructor</strong><br />Arnold is an artist and musician who has exhibited widely across Ontario. His work is represented in public & private collections across North America and is represented by Thielsen Gallery of London, Ontario. Her dissertation examined biography as a gendered discourse in the reception of women artists working from 1960-1980. Her current project explores the relationship between feminism and domesticity in contemporary performance and new media along with research interests in film, design, textiles and craft. <p><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em; "><strong>Jessica Thompson</strong></span><strong><br />Part-time Instructor</strong><br />Jessica Thompson’s projects investigate spatial and social conditions within the urban environment through sound, performance, and mobile technologies. She holds a BFA in Visual Art from York University in Toronto and an MFA in Media Study from SUNY at Buffalo. Her work has been shown in exhibitions and festivals such as ISEA, (San Jose) FINE/LINE (Denmark) the Conflux Festival, (New York) Thinking Metropolis, (Copenhagen) (in) visible Cities, (Winnipeg) Deep Wireless, (Toronto) Beyond/In Western New York, (Buffalo) and NIME 2011. (Oslo) Her projects have appeared in Canadian Art, c Magazine, and numerous art and technology blogs. <p>Office: GL 116 --- Telephone (905) 688-5550 ext. 4756<br /><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 1.3em; "><strong>Irene Loughlin</strong></span><strong><br />Part-time Instructor</strong><br />Irene Loughlin is an interdisciplinary artist who works at the intersections of performance art, video, sound, installation, painting, drawing and writing. She holds an MVS from the University of Toronto, a BFA from Simon Fraser University, has attended the SVA and NSCAD Summer Studio Programs in New York and is an alumni of OCAD.</p><p>She has presented her work in various national and international contexts including upcoming works at Schloss Solitude, (2011, Stuttgart, Germany), a performance and sound art work for the LIVE Performance Biennale (2011, Vancouver, BC), and a video and sculptural installation for The Factory, (2012, Hamilton, ON). She has created and presented collaborative work at the Performance Saga Festival (Bern, Switzerland 2008), video/performances at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (San Jose, Costa Rica), Zonadearte Gallery (Buenos Aires, Argentina), the Deformes Festival (Santiago, Chile), and multi-media works for The Western Front, Grunt Gallery, Gallery Gachet, The Society for Disability Art and Culture (Vancouver), 7a11d Festival (Toronto), and FADO/OCAD (Toronto). She received her MFA from NSCAD.
