Dr. Dwivedi teaches courses in Introduction to Linguistic Theory, Neurolinguistics and Syntax. Prior to teaching at Brock, she taught in the Department of Linguistics at McGill University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Massachusetts.
The focus of Dr Dwivedi's research is to answer the question: How do human brains comprehend and generate language? In order to properly answer this question, an integrated analysis is required that combines advanced knowledge from linguistics, neuroscience, and psychology. She uses both behavioural and electrophysiological methods for her investigations of language processing. For a detailed description, see www.brocku.ca/researchers/veena-dwivedi
