Then I met Stephanie who is in charge of homestay and I became calmer and more confident. Later that day I met fellow students, who soon became friends and people I could relate to since they were experiencing almost the same things I was. The IELP is a great program that not only helped me improve my English but also helped me decide where I’m headed next with an open mind; it’s a great experience to learn a new culture and country.

Write me an email: caritotiernaclo@yahoo.com
[1]

It has many good features which make it outstanding. As a matter of fact, to have separate classes for every skill, useful and relevant books, exciting activities, and conversation partners were very helpful in improving my English. I myself enjoyed it and now I feel more knowledgeable and more confident.

Write me an email: magic_1531@yahoo.com
[3]
image/jpeg icon
Takeshi Uemura - Japan
Two years ago, I came here from a Japanese university. My major was English education and Linguistics; however, my English was terrible. At first I struggled and was scared of speaking English, especially with my host family. After a few months I had the chance to live with a different host family who always helped me to improve my English skills. In addition, I had good teachers in the IELP. They gave me countless suggestions and encouraged me. As a result, I had good time at Brock University. After returning to Japan, I missed my Canadian family and teachers. Because I was so impressed with their warm hearts and they gave me a chance to change myself. After I left Canada, I had to decide what I should do in the future. At that time, I got a good job offer; however, I chose to come back to Canada! Because everything about me had changed and this had started there, I thought it was the best choice for me. Now, I am here, at Brock again! I have a dream; I would never think it possible if I were not here. I would like to be an ESL teacher in the future because my IELP teachers were so kind and supported me even though they were busy. After finishing the IELP, I will take the TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) course at Brock University! I have a lot of international friends and good teachers, so I am very happy to be here! The IELP has given me a good opportunity to study a lot of things, such as different cultures, communication and so on. Brock University is a good place to study! I am so excited everyday, because so many attractive things are waiting for me! I will do my best to make my dreams come true!

Write me an email: brockjphelp@hotmail.com
[4]
