Group Benefits of Foundations in Leadership
Feedback about the Foundations In Leadership Series from groups like Mentorship Plus, Residence Life Staff and BSA consistently supports the benefits of our leadership training. After completing the Bronze level, communications within a team are noticeably more effective and open. After Silver, a team's capacity to deal with tasks that require problem solving is enhanced, because the members share the knowledge of how to approach problems more creatively and are aware of the common mistakes that lead to poor solutions. We also hear that conflict within a team is managed more quickly and productively. Team leaders in particular report that Gold training helped them understand the events in their team's development and sharpened their ability to focus the team during meetings. They also tell us that their team's training had the effect of pulling the group together.
A frequent comment on evaluations from the Bronze program is that the participants felt like they got to know each other at a deeper level and that friendships were formed. Friends who registered together tell us that their friendship was strengthened and couples have reported that their level of communications and ability to resolve differences improved greatly.
As you can see, aside from the individual benefits each member would take away with them, there are obviously lots of reasons why you might want to arrange to having your group or team complete some or all of the Foundations training. To make that even easier, student groups who request training and can give us a time when they can meet will receive a discount of $5.00 per person at each level (some minimum numbers apply).

Student Leader Discount
While the Leadership Development Service was started to benefit any Brock student, we have not forgotten our roots in fostering the development of students who already have leadership responsibilities on campus. If you are such a student (TA, Club executive member, Counsel member, etc) we want to help you get the training that we know will benefit you, your group and ultimately the Brock community. All you need to do to receive a Leader Discount of $10.00 per level, is provide us with confirmation of your position in an approved leadership role.
