"Brock’s Master of Arts in Geography program was created in 2007 and has already established itself internationally as an excellent springboard for ambitious graduate students who want to follow up their Master of Arts with doctoral training at other institutions. The program has a healthy mix of physical and human geographers, of domestic and international students, and of full-time and part-time students.” Dragos Simandan, Graduate Program Director.
The Master of Arts Program in Geography at Brock offers an advanced education in geographical approaches to understanding social and human/environment relations, with emphasis on how contemporary processes affect spatial relations across a range of scales from the local to the global.
Students are trained to develop rigorous understandings of geographical processes through examination of various current theoretical perspectives and research methodologies, as well as through exposure to diverse empirical material. Students are equipped to pursue doctoral studies or careers in areas where the ability to examine and analyze the spatiality of social and human/environment relations is an asset.
