Entrepreneurship 101 - The Spirit of Entrepreneurship
The spirit of Entrepreneurship is a workshop designed to give students a realistic understanding of the importance of entrepreneurship today. Students will have the opportunity to listen to presentations from several entrepreneurs who have successfully started their own businesses or invested in successful start-ups in the Niagara Region. The guest speakers will provide students with key information as to what investors look for when starting a business. Applicants will also have the opportunity to receive key insight from the presenters, as well as the opportunities to connect one-on-one with them after the seminar.
How to write an effective Business Plan Seminar
This seminar is specifically designed for students who have never written a business plan before. Students have the opportunity to learn the functions of a business plan, learn the key steps to make an effective business plan including sections to emphasize. After the presentation, participants have the opportunity to ask the facilitator specific questions related to their own business.
MaRS Entrepreneur’s Toolkit Workshop
Top 15 ventures are invited to attend the MaRS Entreprenuers Toolkit Workshop. This program offers student ventures experiential, hands-on workshops facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs. In a small-group setting, the workshops offer ventures the tools, mentoring and peer feedback to solve specific problems and develop key business components.
Blueprint Entrepreneurs Roundtable
Selected ventures have an opportunity to network with brock alumni and current entrepreneurs. All ventures have to give a sixty second presentation to the mentors and then each venture is given a designated table. There are two rounds, each of 25 minute intervals, where mentors are assigned to specific companies. At the end of the evening anyone has the opportunity to network.
