On September 5th, student volunteers and Niagara community members visited homes in St. Catharines and Thorold neighbourhoods to welcome students back to Brock University and the community. In addition to our greeting, we distributed Welcome Kits to students. Welcome Kits were delivered to over 1,000 student households. The kits include information about issues that relate to student housing, waste management, volunteering, shopping, responsible partying and more. The goal of the Welcome Kits is to provide students with the necessary information and material to have a positive experience and ability to make an impact in the community. With this event we hope to promote awareness of services the Niagara Region has to offer and establish a supportive and welcoming community for the Brock student population. In is our goal to encourage Brock students to be responsible, civic-minded neighbours and foster a strong sense of community and respect amongst students and Niagara residents.
