On March 25th, Niagara Region Public Health (NRPH) and Brock University presented a knowledge exchange forum.
At this forum, fourth year Brock students studying Public Health presented their capstone projects to public health professionals. These projects explored topics ranging from school travel planning, well water testing to media literacy and cyber bullying.
The projects received further feedback, as staff from the NRPH engaged students discussing the feasibility and application of these ideas in practice.
Students and staff were fortunate to hear inspiring opening remarks from Dr. Anna Lathrop, Vice Provost, Teaching and Learning, Brock University and Dr. Valerie Jaeger, Medical Officer of Health.
The keynote address, Dr. George Pasut from Public Health Ontario, spoke to the group about the importance of applied public health research and the role of evidence in driving improvements for the health of the population.
