3MT® Information and 'Performing the Text' Coaching Session #1

All students registered in 3MT® will have the opportunity to learn strategies on how to relax and prepare your mind and body for a presentation, connect your voice and gestures to support your story, hook your audience with a compelling 'opener' and rehearse techniques to minimize performance anxiety. Rehearsal is everything! This session will be facilitated by Julia Course, actor and performance coach.
Preliminary round of 3MT® Challenge

4:30 to 6 p.m.
All graduate students registered in the conference will present during the preliminary round for a chance to advance to the contest finals that will be held on conference day.
Mid-March — 'Performing the Text' Coaching and Feedback Session #2
(Date, time and location to be determined)
All students who advance from the preliminary round to the 3MT® finals will have the opportunity to review a video tape of their presentation with a coach and garner feedback. This will assist you in refining subtle elements of your presentation.

The winner of Brock's contest will advance to the Ontario challenge.
Brock University's own Leslie Nash, a master's student in Applied Health Sciences, placed second at the 2014 Ontario competition for her presentation on how tea flavonoids manipulate mineralization in human bone cells — research that will help to identify dietary strategies for prevention and management of osteoporosis.
Canada’s 3MT Awards — June 2015
Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS) will host the second Canada’s 3MT Awards. This virtual event is scheduled for June 2015. A national champion is chosen from eleven finalists from three regional competitions (Western, Eastern and Ontario).
