A camping-gear company took top honours at Brock University's Monster Pitch event, with a judging panel that included Bruce Croxon of CBC's Dragons' Den program.
The student-run event was organized by the Brock University Entrepreneurship Club, in the Goodman School of Business. It took place Wednesday at Amici's Banquet and Conference Centre in Thorold.
There were 10 teams that entered, with four selected to present. Business plans were pitched to a panel that included Croxon, Jason Sparaga, president of Spara Capital, and David Anyon, former president and CEO of Vintex.
Physis Outdoors, which provides full camping gear and service for non-campers, was the winning team. Its members were Christian Di Vincenzo, Matt Grootjen and Kristopher Luey.
The winning team received $30,000 worth of consulting services from various sponsors.
