Hard work pays off.
In today’s tough economy, jobs are becoming more and more challenging to find. All we hear about these days are depressing stories about companies closing, people being laid off and fewer job opportunities available.
As discouraging as it sounds, the important thing for you to remember is that there are always jobs out there. The hard part is you have to find them.
Only 15 to 20 per cent of job opportunities are advertised. So, where are the other 80 to 85 per cent of jobs? They’re out there but they are not advertised. This is called the hidden job market.
There are strategies to help you tap into the hidden job market. Keep in mind that finding a job may take time and be hard work. You must be proactive in your search and it may require you to go outside of your comfort zone. The reality is that finding a job is competitive. It is worth the time and effort to find not just any job, but the right job for you.
