Following his successful launch of Excapsa Software Inc., a Toronto based developer of online gaming software applications, Jim Ryan relocated with his family to Gibraltar to fulfill his current position as CEO of St Minver Ltd., which is one of Europe's largest online gaming network operators.
Jim was actively sought after following his success of bringing Excapsa Software Inc., from its inception as a 3 person startup with $250,000 of capital in mid 2004, to an extremely profitable, growing organization with more than 200 employees; an initial public offering on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of $375 Million prior to being sold in the 4th quarter of 2006. During the short 3 year period, Excapsa grew to $120M in annual revenues, with $32M of annual profits and operations around the globe.
In his current position, Jim has embraced the new challenge of working within the regulated online gaming environment found within the European community and has grown St Minver Ltd. to now include a full portfolio of online skill and non-skill based games. St Minver Ltd., has established itself as the operator of choice for trusted media brands seeking to leverage their online businesses into the dynamic online gaming markets and prides itself as being the preferred provider of gaming solutions to leading brands such as Yahoo, Virgin, Littewoods and Woolworths, to name a few.
Jim graduated from Brock University as a member of the first Co-op Accounting class in 1984. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, with First Class Honours and received his Chartered Accountant Designation in 1985.
Jim has also held a number of senior positions with various technology based firms including Chief Financial Officer of Cryptologic (LSE:CRP), (NASDAQ:CRYP), (TSX:CRY), Chief Financial Officer of SXC Health Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SXCI) (TSX:SXC), Chief Financial Officer of Procuron Inc., Vice President of Business Development of Metcan Information Technologies Inc and Chief Financial Officer of Epson Canada Limited.
Jim currently sits on the boards of St Minver Ltd. and Big Stick Media Corporation (TSXV:BSM). Up until very recently, Jim was a member of the board of SXC Health Solutions, Inc (NASDAQ:SXCI) (TSX:SXC) having spent 10 years working as an active member of the leadership team driving SXC to become one of Canada's technologies success stories. Other previous directorships include NuContex Corporation (CDNX:YNZ.A) and Alan A. Lamport Stadium. In addition, Jim has been active in Junior Achievement, the Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children's Charities and the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
Jim currently lives in Gibraltar with his wife Shannon, and their three children, Mckenna,Kennedy and Maguire.
