Research, one of four key pillars in Brock University’s Academic Plan, is crucial to securing Canada's future in a world where traditional centres of excellence are shifting.
Globalization affects more than trade and business. It also encompasses creative expression, the state of the environment and the enhancement of health, wellbeing and social justice.
Brock’s research will make vital contributions to these areas, especially as the efforts of our researchers continue to be enabled by such world-class facilities as the Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex.
Without losing sight of the basic and inquiry-based research that is of universal significance, Brock’s faculty and student researchers will be particularly interested in the impact of their work upon the economic, social and cultural development here in the Niagara Region, across Canada and around the globe.
To sustain a culture of pervasive research and creative activity, Brock employs a variety of strategies to pursue substantial and ongoing research funding. We will raise the profile of research in all Faculties to promote cross-disciplinary and collaborative research partnerships, and to increase the number of international research and development projects led by Brock researchers.
