GUEST APPEARANCE BY DEJAN MOMCILOVIC OF WETA STUDIOS, NEW ZEALAND
We are excited to announce that Dejan Momcilovic of WETA studios, New Zealand, will give a talk on Monday June 13th on “Lord of the Rings,”
“King Kong,” and “Avatar” and motion capture, prior to the guided tour of the motion capture studio at the Generator at One. Further details will be announced on the conference web site as they become available
We are also excited to announce the addition of a keynote address by Michael Schmalz, CEO of Digital Extremes.
The third Interacting with Immersive Worlds conference will feature keynote addresses from Professor David Benyon of Edinburgh Napier University, UK and Jon-Paul Dyson, Director of the The International Center for the History of Electronic Games, Strong Museum of Play, Rochester NY. More speakers TBA.
The first Interacting with Immersive Worlds conference was held in the beautiful Niagara Peninsula at Brock University in June of 2007. Presenters and attendees from a multiplicity of disciplines heard keynote presentations by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (Claremont Graduate University), James Gee (Arizona State University), Chris Csikszentmihalyi (MIT Media Laboratory), and Denis Dyack (Silicon Knights).
The 2009 conference was just as provocative, with keynote speakers such as Janet Murray (Georgia Institute of Technology), Espen Aarseth (IT University of Denmark), Geoffrey Rockwell (University of Alberta) and Deborah Todd (Game Designer, Writer and Producer).
