Golfers joined Brock University President Jack Lightstone at Legends-on-the-Niagara in Niagara Falls on May 28 for the seventh annual President's Tournament in support of Brock Athletics.
This year’s tournament, led once again by David Howes, Chair of the President's Tournament and the Brock Board of Trustees, raised $75,000 for the University’s athletic student awards program.
"This is a special event that allows our local partners to help our student athletes succeed at a greater level," said Howes.
Brock's athletes have won 27 national and 50 provincial championships since 1967.
“The proceeds from this tournament provide bursaries and scholarships for Brock's outstanding student athletes, many of whom must use their own money to help cover their teams' costs of training camps, equipment and other expenses,” said Lightstone. “Any athletes who receive these financial awards maintain an overall academic average of 80 per cent, all the while juggling athletics, studies and part-time jobs.”
