System Service Outage Update - Saturday, January 26, 2013

University Exchange service (staff and faculty email, calendar, and Web mail) returned to production as of mid-day Saturday, January 26 following emergency maintenance carried out by ITS late Friday, January 25 and on the morning of Saturday, January 26. Exchange mail stores have been moved to a stable but temporary hardware configuration that replaces failed equipment. No mail was lost during this outage and all users are receiving mail services again.
Planning is under way to move to a new, more permanent hardware configuration in the near future. ITS will make every effort to limit the impact on end users and will provide information regarding the next phases of these changes.
