Try the New SuperSearch beta: Research Has Never Been Easier!
Published on July 10 2012
The James A. Gibson Library is excited to share a dramatic improvement in the online research experience for the Brock community. Beginning in early July, library users will have access to the new SuperSearch beta. For the first time, you will be able to search for both books and articles in one easy-to-use system.
In technical terms, this new service is called "web-scale discovery". It will be especially useful for the novice researcher beginning a project, and provides a wealth of multidisciplinary resources. SuperSearch beta includes all items in the library catalogue and a significant number of our subscription databases. In addition, this tool offers an intuitive interface and streamlined access to library materials. Rest assured that the library catalogue and individual subject databases will continue to be available.
During the beta period, the implementation team will be working hard to resolve known issues, while also allowing our library users time to become familiar with the new tool. The new SuperSearch will become the default search tool on the library homepage in the near future.
We hope that you will explore SuperSearch beta and provide us with your valuable insights. Look for links to the feedback form to let us know what you think of this new service. Along with sending us your comments, you can also choose to enter your name in the SuperSearch Summer Draw for a $25 gift card to the Brock University Campus Store. Note: Library staff are not eligible for the contest.
