Sport Management Alumnus named Assistant GM of Toronto Blue Jays

Published on June 25 2012

Back in the news, just weeks after making history for drafting the first ever OUA Baseball player from the Brock Badgers, Andrew Tinnish has been named as the Assistant General Manager for the Toronto Blue Jays.

In his new position he will report directly to Senior Vice President and General Manager, Alex Anthopoulos to help assist with Major League operations for the Jays.

Tinnish worked his way through the ranks, starting as an intern in April 2001. The internship opportunity came as part of the Sport Management program after graduating in 2001. In 2002 he was named to the position of Baseball Operations Assistant, he then worked as an Area Scout before being named Scouting Coordinator in 2003.  He was named to the position as Assistant Scouting Director in 2006 and then Director, Amateur Scouting in October 2009. Tinnish is an excellent example of how hard work and passion for a sport can translate into success.
