New collection shows lives of early black settlers in Canada

Brock University is celebrating Black History Month by launching a new digitized collection of local records.

Brock’s Special Collections and Archives recently obtained photos and papers (c. 1850-1950) documenting the Bell and Sloman families, who descended from former slaves who came to Canada after the American Civil War.
