Maureen Connolly Tribute!

This year the Alumni Weekend events include a Tribute to Maureen Connolly!

Friday, Sept. 17 in the Pond Inlet, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Join the party to celebrate Maureen Connolly’s contributions to Brock University and the community. Maureen has been a member of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences at Brock University since 1991 as a professor of Physical Education and Kinesiology.

Maureen’s teaching and research focus around curriculum, stressed embodiment, and dance and movement education. Her commitment to Freirian approaches to teaching and learning is the foundation for the Special Needs Activity Program and the Summer Movement Camp for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder, two service based learning initiatives that have successfully served Niagara since the mid-’90s.

Maureen has received a YWCA Women of Distinction Award, a university and national teaching award and was recognized as a 2009 Erasmus Mundus scholar.
