This is a cumulative list of chemical databases, which contain acute and chronic Health effects information of being exposed to a myriad number of hazardous chemicals and agents. Includes the NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards database.

Sittig's Handbook of Toxic and Hazardous Chemicals and Carcinogens (2012)

An encyclopedia handbook that provides critical data and safety information for more than 2200 commercially regulated substances. Sorted alphabetically by chemical name with indexes of synonyms, trade names, and CAS number cross indexes.



U.S. National Library of Medicine's database that indexes journals in medicine, pharmacology, nursing, dentistry, and related health sciences. Covers the toxicological, pharmacological, biochemical and physiological effects of drugs and other chemicals.


WHMIS Classifications

Taken from CCOHS’s CHEMINFO database, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) is Canada’s workplace hazard communication system used to identify the regulated hazards of a chemical (e.g. acute toxicity, carcinogenicity, dangerously reactive).
