Academic Courses

Leadership Programs is thrilled to be included in two new academic courses for the upcoming term as part of the increasing involvement in academic course work.  Below are the classes that participating students can obtain their Foundations in Leadership certificates through as part of their course. 

Co-op Leadership Workshop I (also offered as HIST ON98)
Skills in interpersonal communication and effective problom solving.  
Siminar, 3 hours per week.
Restriction: open to LART and HIST Co-op students or permission of the Co-ordinator of the Foundations in Leadership series.  Note: Students who complete this course achieve Bronze and Silver standing in the Foundations in Leadership Practicum series.

Co-op Leadership Workshop II (also offered as HIST ON99)
Skills in group work and evaluation of personal leadership styles.
Seminar, 3 hours per week.
Restriction: open to LART and HIST Co-op students or permission of the Co-ordinator of the Foundations in Leadership series.  Note: Students who complete this course achieve Gold and Platinum standing in the Foundations in Leadership practicum series.

History F401 | Historians and the Craft of History
Historiography, historical methodology and the latest innovative instructional techniques in the discipline of History. Seminar, 3 hours per week.
Restriction: open to HIST (single or combined) and HIST (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior) majors with a minimum 75 percent major average, approval to Year 4 (honours) and permission of the Department.
Note: Students enrolled in this course will act as senior mentors in learning and life skills to junior undergraduates majoring in History.  Students who complete this course will also achieve Bronze and Silver standing in the Foundations in Leadership Practicum series.
