Trip To Grand River Pow WowSaturday, July 25, 2015

$20 (for transportation and admission to the event). Sign up in person at Aboriginal Student Services, DeCew 213 (beside the DeCew Dining Hall).
Reminder - bring money to purchase food and crafts at the event if desired, and students are encouraged to be in “Brock wear”.
The Grand River Champion of Champions Pow Wow is an Aboriginal Multicultural event held annually during the fourth weekend of July (July 25 & 26 this year). It promotes the rich arts heritage of local Aboriginal peoples by showcasing it in their music, dance, arts, and crafts. There is a dance competition where participants dress in their traditional regalia while local cultural musicians play songs of social gatherings. There are food and craft vendors from numerous Native American nations that come and present their works.

 

The Canal Days Festival @ City of Port ColborneSaturday, August 1, 2015

The festival is an annual 4-day celebration of history and heritage at the Lake Erie shore city, Port Colborne. There will be the Kite Festival, Tall Ships, Midway Rides and lots more.
$5 for transportation. Sign up in person at the Welcome Desk, 2nd flr, International Centre. Bring exact cash please.
