Study Overseas
Each year, the Department of Classics offers a course for credit that is taught by Brock professors and held in the Mediterranean region. The Study Tour in Mediterranean Lands is offered in odd-numbered years (2007, 2009, 2011, etc) and the Archaeological Practicum in even-numbered years (2008, 2010, 2012, etc). These courses provide excellent opportunities to experience ancient cultures first-hand through their monuments, art, and artifacts. Participants in recent Study Tours have traveled and studied in Italy, Greece, and Turkey, while students enrolled in the Archaeological Practicum (field school) have been involved in excavations on land and underwater in Cyprus, Crete, Greece, Turkey, and Italy.
