About Applied Linguistics
The Department of Applied Linguistics (DALS) offers programs of study leading to an Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Hearing Sciences, Speech and Language Sciences, and Teaching English as a Subsequent Language (TESL). As well, the Department also offers a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics/TESL.
The four-year degree programs (Honours and BA with Major) give students the opportunity to prepare for employment or for admission to post-baccalaureate training in a variety of fields. Students who intend to pursue graduate study specifically in Audiology should complete the Honours Hearing Sciences program. Students who intend to pursue graduate study specifically in Speech-Language Pathology should complete the Honours Speech and Language Sciences program.
The Department also offers programs of study leading to a Certificates for Hearing Sciences, for Speech and Language Sciences, and for Teaching English as a Subsequent Language (TESL Certificate).
