Canada Graduate Scholarship - Master's

The Tri-Agencies (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) established a "Harmonization Committee" to redesign the CGS Master’s programs. The aim was to create a harmonized, more flexible and effective system of application to fund students who demonstrate a high level of achievement in graduate studies.

Successful award recipients will receive one of the following awards depending on their area of research:

  •        NSERC – Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship
  •        SSHRC – Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship
  •        CIHR – Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship

Award Value:    $17,500 for 12 months, non-renewable

Transcripts:  Students are responsible to upload their up-to-date official transcript(s) to the Research Portal by December 1, 2013.  If you are registered in a program for the Fall term you must submit a transcript showing that you are currently registered, even though you will have no grades. You must submit your official transcripts to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by December 2, 2013.

 

 

Note:  If you have applied for an OGS award, you may include your official transcript(s) with your OGS application package. 

 

Announcement of Results:  Universities will post their competition results on the Research Portal, April 1, 2014.

Acceptance and Declines of Offers:  Applicants will have three weeks to respond to offers of awards.  Offers not accepted will be deemed to have been declined.
