Recreational Services for Grads
Brock Students automatically receive a "Basic" gym membership, which includes access to the aquatic centre, the gymnasia, track, squash and tennis courts. Registered Graduate students also have access to the "Zone" Fitness Centre, including use of all cardio and weight equipment, fitness classes and spinning classes. As well, grad students are entitled to an orientation to the Zone session with a certified personal trainer. This is booked in advance at the desk in the Zone. To access the Zone, please show your Brock University Student ID card at the Cage to get an identifying wristband each time you use the Zone. Library Resources for Grads
From resources such as Journal article databases and copying & printing services; to research assistance such as RACER Interlibrary Loan Service; the library has it! Every program has a dedicated librarian to assist - check for the Liaison Librarian for your program.
New - The Personal Librarian program is designed to introduce students entering Brock University to the many resources, tools and services available through the Library. Students in select programs will be contacted by their personal librarian occasionally throughout the year.
They also have a new study space designed exclusively for graduate students on the 6th floor of the Library. This research and study space includes 22 large study carrels and 2 computer workstations, accessible only by card swipe. There is also a bookable meeting/presentation room for up to 10 people. Go Transit Student Identification Cards
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO MAKE GETTING TO SCHOOL EASY:
· Get a GO approved Student ID card through GO Transit *
· Pick up a re-loadable PRESTO card wherever you buy GO tickets
· Set up your PRESTO card for Student Fares and save at least 17%
· Sign up for On the GO alerts to get all the service updates
· Make sure you always have enough money on your PRESTO card to get where you need to go
· Remember to always travel with your GO-issued student ID!
*Full-time students attending Brock University can obtain a GO Transit-issued student ID card by using a paper application form received from Graduate Students' Association Office (MC C302). Students must have an authorized official at their school sign the completed application form in order for it to be considered.
To obtain a card, the signed application form can be submitted to the Union Station Customer Service Centre in one of three ways:
- Take the signed form to Union Station Customer Service where a card will be made up on the spot.
- Take the signed form to any GO Train station. It will be sent to Union Station to be processed, and then returned for pick-up at the station of the student’s choice (as indicated on the application). Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing.
- Mail the signed form, along with a self-addressed, stamped return envelope to: Union Station, Customer Service 35 York St., Toronto, ON M5J 0C7
