An emergency grocery voucher program was introduced by the GSA office on a trial basis in May 2010. Through this program, all graduate students are eligible to receive a $25 gift card for a local grocery store. To receive aid, the student must fill out the following electronic request form, or the paper form available in our office (MC C302) or from the GSA President. Students will not be required to demonstrate financial need, but there must be at least one month between receipts of aid per student, to make this program available to as many graduate students as possible. Funds are limited, so please use only in an emergency situation.
If a student accesses the program for two consecutive months, and then makes a third consecutive request, they will be required to meet with the GSA President to discuss what alternate measures they might be able to take to alleviate their problem. The indication would be that this is not a short-term emergency situation, but an ongoing issue.
