Location: This greenway parallels the Niagara River on the Canadian Side. It extends from Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake, through Chippawa, to Historic Fort Erie.
Length: 56 km
History: The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) began developing the trail in 1986 and completed the final section in 1994.
Surface Features: Mainly asphalt surface with intermittent gravel portions in southern reaches. Roadway crossings are marked; plaques tell distances and about local History along the trail's length; wheelchair accessible.
Recreational Use: Multi-use trail system: walking, cycling, jogging, in-line skating, hiking. Motorized vehicles prohibited.
facilities: Seasonal public washrooms, free parking. People Mover Transport System in Niagara Falls.
Significant Features:
historical Plaques highlight Ontario's and Upper Canada's History. Features include Fort George, Historic Fort Erie, early battle sites, McFarland House Museum, Willoughby Museum.
ecological A tree-lined and sometimes wooded parkway with many picnic areas. Greenspaces and natural features include Lake Ontario, the Niagara River, Simcoe Park, Queenston Heights Park, NPC School of Horticulture, NPC Botanical Garden, the Floral Clock, the Lilac Garden, the Niagara Glen and Whirlpool, Queen Victoria Park, Niagara Falls, NPC Greenhouse, Dufferin Islands, King's Bridge Park, Welland River, Navy Island, Black Creek, Grand Island, Lake Erie.
cultural Shaw Festival, Sir Adam Beck Niagara Hydro Plant, Whirlpool Golf Course, Niagara Spanish Aero Car, Great Gorge Adventure, Mildred Mahoney Doll Museum, Niagara Parks Marina and Snack Bar, Clifton Hill, Table Rock House.

Greenway Linkages: The Bruce Trail's southern terminus is at Queenston Heights Park. Also, Upper Canada Heritage Trail, and Black Creek and Beaver Creek Trail . Potential linkages: a hydro corridor in Niagara Falls, the abandoned Canadian Southern rail line from Fort Erie to Niagara Falls, and the proposed Grand Trunk Rail Trail in Fort Erie.
