Understanding social media

This introductory course provides an overview of social media; its history, theories and the principles behind online communication. Through hands-on demonstrations of a variety of social and digital media tools, you’ll discover how these tools are shaping modern communication, and how to incorporate them into everyday business and personal communications.

Grammar refresher

Gain confidence as a writer by gaining a good command of grammar. You will learn how a mastery of basic grammar will help you express ideas clearly and avoid confusion. Through exercises and discussion, you will review and practise parts of speech, sentence structure, and punctuation, and learn to avoid common errors.

Portfolio workshop

This course will help you create a memorable portfolio or refine an existing one through covering the basics of design and organization including choice of materials, graphic design, and a winning cover. You will review a variety of styles and learn how to improve your own and make it notable. This unique workshop is meant to enrich you as an artist and allow you to creatively showcase your skills. Students will want to bring their existing portfolios or work to class to share.
