The art of storytelling

During this four-week course you will not only learn the history of storytelling, you will focus on finding your personal storytelling voice, the guidelines to an engaging story, stage presence, characters, and story structure. Every participant will have the opportunity to tell their own story and listen to the stories of others. We all have a story to tell, what’s yours?

Grant writing
This workshop provides tools and strategies to non-profits on how to write persuasive
and compelling grant applications. Topics will include the importance of starting early, writing with simplicity and clarity, defining a project with a realistic scope and demonstrating effectively your ability to carry out the proposal.

Making the most of your experience on a board of directors
Are you currently volunteering for or thinking of joining a board of directors? This course, led by a seasoned board volunteer, will help you to learn the questions to ask before joining a board, the types of board of directors and the critical roles within.

Freelance writing 101
If you have ever dreamed of becoming a freelance writer, this course is for you.
This 5-week course will teach you the skills to become a successful writer including how to build a portfolio, where to get ideas and topics from, common writing rules, the importance of photography and various ways you can increase your earnings as a writer. We will introduce you to this exciting field and in no time you can be on your way to doing something that you love – writing.
